What Are Telehealth Services?
To reach as many people as possible, we also offer telehealth services. While we can only provide Irlen syndrome diagnostic testing at our in-person location, we can offer consultations via email, phone or video conferencing. The same is true for our occupational therapy and accessibility services.
What is telehealth therapy?
Telehealth is used to describe any healthcare or medical services that is provided over a technology platform, whether that is secure messaging between a therapist and a client or caregiver, educator, employer, design/build professional or a video conferencing platform like Skype, WhatsAPP, etc. Many doctors, nurses and therapists presently use telehealth services, enabling convenient ways to get the care and professional consultation needed without leaving their home, school or jobsite.

Are Telehealth Service Covered for You?
Depending on where you are located, OT services maybe be reimbursable. Many Maryland residents can be reimbursed via their insurance companies. While Abilities OT & Irlen Diagnostic Center does not accept insurance, we can offer you a coded receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider or a flexible spending account (FSA) or healthcare spending account (HSA).
